It depends how 'close' you are to the shore.

front property...
Yes, if your yard includes a beach now, you should get taller stilts.
The most dire predictions won't provide me a tide out my window.
I'm in Indiana and we'll see the Flintstones again before I walk down to
the surf.
Since we're at 27 consecutive days below freezing (Six in a row -0F) a
bit of warmth would be OK.
