anyone been able to find a picture of these boxes? i've been curious
to see just what they look like to see if there would even be a legit
complaint. I keep picturing a big wooden crate with 'ACME' painted on
the side of it.

AFAICT they were just electronic signs, kinda like those boards that get
held up by officials at football matches to say how much added time there
is. 'cept in this case they had symbols on them.

They looked like cut-rate Lite-Brites from the 70's. Check YouTube for
video of the "bombs".

Quite the over-reaction, actually

This has become the funniest thing ever! I've always loved ATHF, but the way
the Boston police went apeshit and made fools of themselves, having their
bomb squad detonate a lite brite!!!!, has been just awesome.

Here is a picture of one of the devics.

Yeah, it looks just like a bomb...

Boston has done us all proud, no doubt.

Yep. Now they know that all they need to do to shut down a major city is
visit Toys R' Us. Why bother with bombs and hijackings?

in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland,
Austin, San Francisco and Philadelphia."

I'm an hour south of Austin. I guess the company thought a blinking light
device might stand out too much in Vegas and be too much of a disruption.

Actually, in Las Vegas, there are so many blinking lights most
everywhere esp. around the casinos that it's difficult noticing a
particular one. Most frequent messages include 'Best Slots', 'Best
Blackjack', 'Best Buffet', and best jab at Las Vegas was back in '89
when the Mirage was opened that it was said that they would sacrifice
a virgin in the Mirage's volcano, but it being Las Vegas, they
couldn't find one.
