I think Brian was/is a great performer. With Brian, they had a heck of a
career, and without him, we would have been robbed of 20 years worth of damn
good tours. But the creative output DC is known and lauded for, took place
from on or around 1976 through July of 1980, plus or minus a few months.

They do have a lot of post-BIB songs that I like, but I am also lifelong
AC/DC-douche. Anyone who likes Some Sin, Nick of Time, Two's Up, Kissin'
Dynamite and Got You By The Balls is drinking some cool-aid.

What strikes me most about the post-BIB era is the lack of great live
performances caught on tape or video. They have a lot of adequate stuff,
but nothing that even comes close to the great Bon performances. Blues
Booze, Rock Goes To College, Towson, Apollo, what we have of Bondi etc.,
etc., etc. just kills everything that came after Bon's death. Don't get me
wrong, they were still very good -- but the quality, energy, creative
"whatever" was in a different stratosphere.

Well said lawyer boy. I think Bon was pretty much the essence of rock,
as was the band back then. He was more or less the rock lifestyle back
in the day. There's no way he would of lasted at the pace with or
without DC. DC lost a shit load of writing talent when Bon tapped out
and that shows big time in the lyrics. Don't get me wrong I like Brian
and he was the correct choice to replace Bon. The band & industry have
changed so much the last few decades that if your not current your
toast. The music is so saturated with make a buck & leave & one one will
notice if your gone cause the record comps have hundreds of "artists"
waiting in line is the norm. If DC is done then their done, so be it.
Now go out and get your Van Wolfgang with David Weave Roth tickets kids!!

Wasn't he the one who caught the case of beer when I slipped on the banana
peel? Seriously, who could make that up? I wish someone had been filming
that.

True, when BIB took of they went into "robot" mode. All nights
virtually the same high quality with very few exceptions. With Simon
Wright around it became "interesting" again though, registering the
first F-ups in years. Thing is I do believe there are some really good
shows that have been pro recorded. Largo 81 comes to mind, both dates
were recorded and recieved a rough mix throughout by Mutt Lange.

I've always thought that was an awful name too. Strap It On is a better
album title than Brianfire would be for a box set.

Yeah, I caught the beer... and still an X-file as to why there was
fruit laying around in the vicinity. I never expected to meet Angus
but I did... though I wished I took I believe Chris4900's offer of him
taking a pic of me with Angus... since while nice to say I meet Angus,
what better than a pic to prove it?
If there's another Philly show in the future, I doubt if the Syd
Barrett lookalike will show up... and I'll get a room in Atlantic City
which is 1-1/2 hours to the east.
Erbacide, you ready to host the AC/DC BOD in Las Vegas? I can help
esp. if the Lady Luck has reopened by then (supposed to open in early
2008) since all their rooms are mini-suites and even for medium
rollers, at least 4 hours of play a day means at least a buffet comp,
the mini-suite, and limo from and to the airport. It's where I stayed
about 4 years ago to begin 2003 in hopes of seeing a certain singer
perform except he couldn't get into the country... and big New Year's
resolution that I'll keep this time is to check my e-mail in Las Vegas
since a month or two later, I attended his delayed show where he
performed 15 songs in an hour... and I had no idea that I could have
met him in person that night since the e-mail I read upon returning
home stated I was on the guest list!
There's Gonna Be Some Rockin'...

My bloody knee was wondering the same thing.

I have some. Of me and Ang in Philly that is. I also have pictures of
that dratted Frosty who by the magic of her giant tits confounded the
picture taking of Bads and I at one of the most private and epic meeting of
midgets one might ever encounter at another show. A true once in a lifetime
opportunity. On the other hand, I have a great pic of you and an African
American hooker chatting it up in the parking lot before the Philly show. I
always wondered, was she negotiating your rates, or you hers? Do tell.

Do you drive John? I just picture you driving down the road and for no
apparent reason yanking the steering wheel hard to the left or right at any
given moment without rhyme or reason and just cruising right along without a
care in the world.

There was always the occasional lyric lost by Brian though. Something
those karaoke machines (I can't remember what they're called) on stage
changed. Actually I think the band got slightly less robotic when Phil
came back. Brian loosened up a lot on stage and actually started to
say a couple of words to the audience (and not even the same words
every night) between songs.

Thing is I do believe there are some really good

There are great live recordings with Brian but the official live album
is real shit. The silence between songs drains it from all its live
feeling. The early stuff like Largo 81 are great but still it suffers
from the robotisism you speak about. I'd take a good recording from
the SUL tour over any from '81 any day.

I think Mal's back on the sauce. That's simply a personal opinion...but it
would explain a lot.

Never in my life have I ever had a cab ride (or any vehicle for that matter)
that even slightly resembled that evening. It wuz scary and fucking
hilarious at the same time. And you wouldn't stop with your paki imitations
the whole way while the cab driver basically broke every rule known to
man/cabbie-kind.

Fuck that wuz funny!!!

I'd be willing to bet there's demos and out-takes from the first 3 albums
that never made the final cut. There were 3 from the Flick sessions that
were rumored (Tighrope, and 2 others but I can't remember). Wuz there
anything left off BIB?? Mutt is notorious for having bands record and
re-record songs many times over so I figure there's other stuff in the
vaults that could make up a Volts kinda disc (btw, I don't think Borderline
is of negligible quality...I think it's a damn good song and would have been
the second best on BUYV had it been included). Throw in a complete Largo
'81 on both audio and dvd discs and you have the makings of a decent
box-set.

Economies of scale. Box-sets are geared mainly towards die-hard fans of
which AC/DC has many. Release it just before Christmas and I bet it sells
as much as Bonfire.

If it wasn't for you and your obsession with saggy crack whore tits, I'd
have the world's only picture of a midget rock star signing an autograph
with a burning cigar.

Damn you!

That was GD funny. I swear, it was the epitome of Beavis and Butthead
kickin' it with Malcolm and Angus.

Angus grabbing my cigar wasn't nearly as funny as you starring out of the
corner of your eyes -forehead breaking out in a cold sweat- at Mal's
cigarette butt he tossed to the ground. I was betting my last dollar you
were going to fall on it like a live grenade squeezing it in a death grip
chanting, eyes rolling back in your head like a monk who just discovered the
Holy Grail.

I think similar opportunities will be fewer and farther between....

That bitch Frosty....
