My guess is this was completely a record company decision in order to
fulfill his obligation to them. Elton mentioned they were parting ways
so this is probably the final CD in their contract with him. I would
almost rather Elton do like Prince and try to have a go of it on his
own. You know, years back, there was a rumor of Elton and Paul
McCartney starting their own label. Of course the logistics of
distribution would be the biggest factor.
