Easy way out. So since your belief is it's all going to blow up anyway why
ever bother to do anything to make it better? Some faith.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the
heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with
fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the
coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved,
being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless
we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which
righteousness dwells.

I believe based on the prophecies in the Bible that the Lord will return
soon - as in the next 30 years.

Since the 70s!? This has been predicted by religious looncakes forever
now; the Middle Ages were stuffed with a series of such folderol and
fiddle faddle. In times of great cultural uproar, the sasme old tired
donkey is trotted out and beaten all over again. Unless one is insane, a
series of totally incorrect forecasts over the course of two thousand
years might make you doubt the very process of prophecy. Yet - after two
thousand years (not counting the apocalyptic visions which predate
Christianity) - the Bible munchers are still buying the same old tripe
from the same old fishmonger. So why - given such a record of repeated
self-delusion - is it so outrageous to think that religion might indeed
make people feeble-minded? Even an animal will usually stop eating the
same old eggs if they're always rotten. You'd think a supposedly
thinking human being could figure out that the Bible is a horrible guide
to the future by now, if only because it is such a horrible guide to the
past.

I'm covered.
I'm 1/2 Chosen People and the rest is at the will-call window.
So?
If I see a guy with a big nose, a brisket and a bundle o' bills comin'
down the street...
I do nuttin'.
(I can pass the "Drop Yer Pants" test)
Plan B:
I have sentries posted at each corner.
I'm ready for the signal.
Depending on the garb & lingo of the passenger in the limo?
My shelves are stocked with manuals, maps & I have a trunk of
trinkets....um, important stuff.
Plan C:
If the passenger in the stretch resembles a hooker?
I have a degree!
....in 'None Of The Above'.

But 30 years from now?
The odds are good I'll be seein' that show on re-runs.
I'd be 82 & I s'pect to be canceled before that.

But it would not be the end of the planet.
At the end of the Paleozoic Era, 250 million years ago, something like
97% of all species of life on the planet disappeared.
And yet, the planet is still here.

There are several quotes in the Bible where Jesus, speaking to his
disciples, says clearly that he will return and 'God's Kingdom' will be
established on Earth within the lifetimes of some of those he was
speaking to, that some of them will see it happen before they die.
Needless to say, all of those people died nearly two thousand years ago.

Ah-men.
As she herself quoted: Jesus said he will come 'as a thief in the night...'
NO man knows the appointed day or hour. So where she gets 30 years is
beyond me (and no, Revelations and prophecies are ALL no more
than -opinions- of those who give them meaning). At one time the Beatles
were supposedly the creatured flying from the great smoke of the pit (WWII
allegedly) just because one of the features of said creatures was long hair.
Hence the *modern* prophecies of the 60's and 70's.
Like applying meaning to Nostradamus' quatrains (already shown to be
incorrect).
