OT: info ABOUT NO TOP POSTING -
02-24-2007, 04:30 PM
Top posting is okay for e-mails, but NOT for newsgroups, like us,
the Pink Floyd group.
You're supposed to read the post, and answer at the _BOTTOM_ of the post,
NOT the top.
You can also edit the post, which means you can remove parts of the contents
of the post. Got that or should I speak slower???
If you post something NOT related to Pink Floyd, you can use OT, which means
off Topic OR NPFR, which means Not Pink Floyd Related.
Not everybody uses OT or NPFR as you can see.
LOL, no biggie.
We, here at amp-f also use funny words like:
sned, Pnik Foyld, bithrday, poast, clwon, pr0n, Jellis, Speese, to name a
few. LOL

Wasn't it Shakespeare who said that "it's got alot ado about nothing"?
Top or down is irrelevant. Scrolling down & down & down is more aggravating
than top posting, IMHO.

Everybody else.

Because the sad fact is that they're really, really boring. Added to
which, there's nothing new, different or ground-breaking left to
discuss anymore. It's all been done before. Only their deaths will
spark any huge resurgence of on-topic posting, and in the case of Syd
Barrett, even that didn't last long.
Ever a man of my word, I note with some amusement that the school
caretaker who's been charged with sending those injurious letter bombs
around the country lived in....Cherry Hinton. Who'd have thought, eh?
One in a village is unfortunate. Two people who're one wave short of a
shipwreck is disastrous....

I'm on your side. But the days of "good netiquette" are long gone.
Top posting sucks. Not trimming quoted text sucks. Posting in HTML sucks.
