Music genres are cyclical....punk didn't go anywhere, it's just not in the spotlight at the moment.

Green Day aren't punk. They just wear black and eye-liner.

Punk rock moves around and stays around. First popped up in the 80's in Britian so now it is full of oldies stuff for old folks too.

Those bands aren't even punk! Real punk is the Sex Pistols, early Social Distortion. Real punk is punk from the 80's. Not to be mean, but get your head out of your as.s and research punk from the 80's. Watch "The Decline of Western Civilization, The Punk Years"

The best punk rock predating your selections there are the "Sex Pistols" check them out. Punk rocks old school they're diminishing fast. Got to some vinyl records sir to get punks spirit !Green days actually grunge moreso than punk.
